WENDY WADE
AUTOBIOGRAPHY
WENDY WADE was born in England and came to Australia in 1976, she has lived in and taken inspiration from Sydney’s inner west, east and north shore. Wendy started painting in 1993, her studies have included drawing, acrylic and oil painting, printmaking, mixed media and collage, she uses these techniques in her art practice.
Wendy’s work is generous and vibrant. One critic has described her work as “voluptuous”. Wendy’s interest lies in exploring line with ink, charcoal and paint using a palette knife and collage to break lines, define textures and create structure.
Wendy has studied with inspirational Australian artists such as Jo Bertini, Lucy Culliton, David Fairbairn and Judith White.
Wendy has been a Finalist in the Mosman Art Prize, Hornsby Art Prize, Benalla Nude art prize, The Royal Easter Show and The Volunteers Art Exhibition at the SH Ervin Gallery.
Wendy has exhibited regularly since 2002 being involved in many group and solo exhibitions. Wendy’s works are represented in private collections in Sydney, Brisbane, Spain and the UK including the High Commission in London.
